Which isn't very often at all. Yet there are those days where I am SO lazy, that I can actually convince myself that running on the mill won't be as grueling as running thru my hood. I know it makes no sense, but for some reason I can psyche myself into believing it... until mile six when I realize that the ol' machine ain't no joke. ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311378112082969638.post-8332543609400134562012-01-23T16:02:14.915-05:002012-01-23T16:02:14.915-05:00Great reasons but I've got one that trumps the...Great reasons but I've got one that trumps them all as to why I use one on only the harshest of days: BORING

No houses to look at, no cars to dodge, no sun, no snow, no rain, no nothing......just a belt going around in circles.

As a matter of fact I would rather run 26.2 miles in a track than run 4 miles on a treadmill.......Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08914217156791555569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311378112082969638.post-79993298098070035822012-01-22T14:19:25.997-05:002012-01-22T14:19:25.997-05:00I've always called it the dreadmill and avoide...I've always called it the dreadmill and avoided at all costs. HOWEVER, I have a time goal for my upcoming half and have been using the mill for speedwork and tempos. It has now upgraded to its real name, the treadmill. I can stop and reset the treadmill and in that time i can pee, and use the stick or foam roller. I did all my training for my half last year on it. Don't mind it at all! It doesn't help that the one I have at home isn't the nicest of dreadmills (the incline doesn't work and I swear the speed is wrong).

Funny - we I started this whole running thing, the cold was so hard on my asthma that I did most of my runs on the dreadmill. It SAID I was doing a 14 minute mile. When I switched to outside and ran a 12 minute mile I was delighted, and never went back to the DM. :)Mandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09869981194700422927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311378112082969638.post-90882224344174633102012-01-20T21:06:32.643-05:002012-01-20T21:06:32.643-05:00Love your post. So, I'll occasionally go to the track, where I don't have to contend with all of the things you mentioned. But that's REALLY fun, running in a circle! And then, add winter weather, and I'm REALLY not running outside. I mean, I'm guessing they don't plow the track after a snowstorm, right? Is it heated somehow??? lolFrickin' Fabulous at 40https://www.blogger.com/profile/14853674225662132643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5311378112082969638.post-36790846554087252772012-01-20T17:26:18.144-05:002012-01-20T17:26:18.144-05:00Becka - I hear ya sista - it is scary out there! ...Becka - I hear ya sista - it is scary out there!
